Busking at Red Lodge Montana
Brynn and Eli in front of the Red Lodge Clay Center busking for money during my opening last month. They both did pretty well making enough money to raid the Candy Emporium down the street. It all ended though when a 100% drunk lady emerged from one of the many bars with her equally drunk companion and used Brynn as a leaning post and fumed inches from her face "your music is gold to my soul". We weren't around for a few seconds and when David the Director's wife Maggy came around the corner, Brynn's bow was scratching the strings and she had tears in her eyes. That was it for both of them. They put their violins away and beat it on down to the candy shop. I guess they learned a lesson when entertaining the public, you have to be prepared for anything.

Playing a violin in public will attract all sorts; it's a spooky at times, but it's a great way to transition into a being better player. Plus as they get older, it's a great way to make food money on an off day...
The experience has become family lore. We laugh about it now.
